1 Create the Child Theme Folder
Connect to your server via FTP. Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and create a new folder named yourtheme-child (replace “yourtheme” with the actual name of your parent theme).
2 Create the Stylesheet (style.css)
Open your text editor and create a file named style.css. Paste the header code block below, ensuring the “Template” line matches your parent theme folder name exactly.
3 Enqueue the Parent Styles
Create a second file named functions.php. Add the PHP code required to load the parent theme’s CSS so your site retains its original design.
